Last day in Singapore.... off to the zoo!!!

Ryans blog.... We woke up late this morning and off to the zoo we go. We caught a cab there and can i just say now, we can't believe how cheap it is to catch a cab. 20cents per 485 metres. That is amazing. While we are on the topic of cars i noticed that there were only 2 types of cars on the road. Taxis and brand new cars. I mean brand spanking new. Cars like brand new BMW's, brand new Mercedes, Brand new lexus's, etc. So while we were at tea the night before i asked one of the locals why this was.Well turns out cars are not allowed to be more then 10 years old and if you do own a car it costs you $30,000 for a drivers licence which you have to pay every time you purchase a new car. So their for only the rich can afford cars and thats why their are so many taxis here and thats why it is so cheap.

Now back to Kayte and the Zoo!!  You have to go to understand just how amazing it really is. As soon as you walk in there are little monkeys jumping around the trees above you. Every animal looks at home, in big enclosures. Beautiful enclosures which makes it feel like you aren't even in a zoo. It's like you are walking through a rainforest. So beautiful. Highlight of this day was feeding the giraffes!!!

After the zoo we cabbed it back to Marina Sands shop where we where the previous day so Kayte could look at  shoes i had seen the night before.... I wasn't planning on buying shoes but i can't believe how cheap they are here... lets hope we can send em home for a little price, because i won't be carrying them around with me for the next 8wks!!!

We ended the day packing up our clothes ready for our flight tomorrow morning and writing our blog at the internet cafe!!!
